What is `required` supposed to mean in a response schema?

In response body schema’s there is a boolean for required. What exactly does that mean in the context of a response body?

Does it mean that that attribute is guaranteed to exist in the response?

Hey Tom,

That’s a great question. I don’t think there is any effect per say on the backend because the API response will be sent wether or not it is set as required. It is a property of schema objects in general which aren’t differentiated between request or response. Another potential reason, just brainstorming here, is for collaborative design/modeling purposes, ensuring that during development that property is always included in the response.
